We are a multidisciplinary group led by Dr. David Landeira and affiliated to the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology II at University of Granada. Our lab is based at the Centre for Genomics and Oncological Research (GENYO) that is co-funded by Pfizer, University of Granada and the Andalusian Regional Government.


Prof. David Landeira, group leader. MS Molecular Biology by University of Sevilla and PhD in molecular biology and epigenetics at National Research Council (CSIC). Postdoctoral research at MRC-Clinical Science Centre (London) followed by tenure track “Ramon y Cajal Researcher” at University of Granada.  Currently, Tenured Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology II at University of Granada.

Prof. Antonio Sánchez-Pozo, senior research scientist. He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Pharmacy by the University of Granada, degrees of Specialist in Clinical Biochemistry and in Clinical Analyses by the Spanish Ministry of Health. Postdoctoral fellow  at the Ramón y Cajal Hospital, Madrid. Currently full professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology II at University of Granada.

Prof. Lourdes López-Onieva, senior research scientist. BS in Biochemistry at University of Granada and PhD in Developmental Biology at National Research Council (CABD-CSIC, Seville). Postdoctoral researcher at the London Research Institute – Cancer Research UK (London), at the Center for Genomics and Oncological research (GENYO, Granada), and tenure track researcher (Plan Propio UGR program) at the University of Granada. Currently associate professor at Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology I at University of Granada.

Dr. Efres Belmonte-Reche, research scientist. He obtained his degree in Pharmacy from the University of San Pablo-CEU (Madrid) and did his PhD in Drug Discovery at the IPBLN National Spanish Research Council (CSIC) in Granada. He was later a research fellow at the Iberian International Nanotechnology Laboratory in Braga (Portugal) and a postdoctoral “Maria Zambrano” researcher in our group. Currently tenure track researcher (Plan Propio UGR program) at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology II at University of Granada.
